Easter Fun

This year we stayed home and I cooked my first Easter meal - not as scary as I thought it would be. Lots of wine involved. On Saturday, our neighborhood put on a Easter Egg hunt for the kids which was a lot of fun. Stephen drove up Saturday afternoon and helped John cut down some of our trees. I wish I took a picture of that, they worked hard and got a lot done. On Sunday, we had some neighbors come over for dinner. It turned out to be a fantastic day. I think we are all pretty exhausted but it was worth it. Holiday with kids always seem to be a little hectic but a lot of great memories.

Happy Birthday to my little man

Yep - my little man is three. He knows his ABCs, can spell his name, and can do a million more things that he could not do a year ago. It is just amazing how much he has absorbed this last year. The most important thing was how he learned to be the best big brother. Of course we always knew he was the best, but watching him interact with his sister is just the most amazingly sweetest thing I have ever witnessed. Yes, sometimes he is a little too rough or loses his patience - but for someone who is just a baby himself, he is so grown up. As I am typing this, I am listening to him read a story to John. He is making up his own words to go with the pictures, but it is his story. All I can think about is turning three is just the beginning of his story... and I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Just a side note - party hats make everything more fun :)

These past two months have been a lot of fun but kinda hectic. John has been traveling more than ever and we are trying to get things organized for this year. James was able to get into our first choice for preschool (yay!) and he is signed up for soccer as well as a few summer camps. It's going to be a busy year but as long as most of the preparing is done by the time the warm weather hits, I will be happy. I want to be able to relax and enjoy the heat this summer!

Addy is teething. Her two top teeth are coming in and she is miserable - frozen waffles have been a huge hit with her!

There is this fantastic park by Lake Norman - it has lots of things to climb on and it is fenced in so that I don't feel like I have to constantly hover.

Our mommy group was able to get a tour of the local fire station. The big highlight was of course the firetrucks. The kids were able to climb all over it and turn on the siren - so exciting for them.

James loves his Duke

And Madeleine loves her Bronx.

James and his friend Griffin have so much energy that we took them to a place full of bounce houses - and they jumped for 2 hours. It was a great place to just let them go and run!

Madeleine is pulling herself up now! John lowered her crib the day she stood in her crib, but she was so proud of herself!

Last week we went to a neighbor's house for dinner and the boys made dinner for everyone - homemade pizza!

Playing with the "stomp rocket" - a very cool toy.
