Dinosaur date with my little man

This past weekend, there was a traveling dinosaur exhibit that came through Charlotte. And of course, I knew I had to take James! In case you didn't know already, dinosaurs are his most favorite thing ever. I cant even explain to you how much he loves dinosaurs. Its insane. But in a good way. Unless he is chasing his sister around roaring at her or listing all 142 kinds of dinosaurs he knows to anyone who accidentally makes eye contact with him. Then it is a very annoying way.

One side of the exhibit were lifelike dinosaurs that moved and growled and roared! There were over 40 different kinds of dinosaurs and James couldn't get enough of them.

The other section was all kid stuff!

James keeps saying he wants to dig for dinosaur bones so this was a great chance for him to do just that.

Dinosaur mini golf!

There was a fake mine that the kids got to go in and find fossils.

James yelled at me for taking pictures with my flash on because it ruined the experience. Yes, that is what he said. When did he get to be 16??

Here he was sifting for fossils and dinosaur bones. He "found" several teeth and some old lava which he got to keep.

The dinosaur maze was one of his favorite activities. We will definitely have to take him to a corn maze this fall.

While James and I were off having fun, Madeleine was having a pajama party with her bff Parker. Those two girls always have the best time together so it was a great day for everyone!

New Years Eve and New Years Day

Yes, I am weeks behind with these pictures - oops! Good thing one of my resolutions was not being timely with the blog! Our New Years Eve was a busy one but packed with fun filled activities. And my Dad was here too which made it even more fun for the kids :)

Our mall hosted a kids NYE party with activities and a super fun band that got all the kids dancing.

Madeleine and her friend, Parker, didn't quite know what to make of the dance floor but they liked to watch!

James was a dancing machine!

Afterwards we went out for lunch... and ice cream!

We went over to our friend's house for dinner and to watch the ball drop, which we were able to fake with the wonderful help of the internet at 730 for the kids. Madeline got to wear her party glasses.

On New Years Day, we went to Discovery Place in Uptown Charlotte which is a really fun kid's museum. They have a temporary dinosaur exhibit going on right now that includes a really fun 3D movie.

They also had a really great underwater section. The kids were even able to touch a few sea creatures.

Dinosaurs!

In this section, every time you stepped on the lights it would make a different musical sound. The kids had a blast racing around trying to make their own music.

Here the kids would put the scraps of paper into the bottom of the shoot and air would push it out the top of the shoot...

And make it fly out at them!

There was a really cool science show that we all sat down to watch, but even snuggling with her Daddy didn't make Madeleine thrilled with all the fire and loud noises.

Madeline and I ended up leaving the show and found a great block building area while we waited for the science show to end.

It is a really cool kids museum and will definitely be going often! Hope everyone had as great a start to 2015 as we did! Who else cannot believe it is 2015 already??
